GROWING PAINS
Teenage growing pains are extremely common and can cause many adverse problems if not treated appropriately. Bones and muscles grow at different rates and times, this leads to tension building across joints, becoming restricted and painful. Tendon strains, scoliosis, muscle strains, ligament sprains are all common occurrences during teens.
WHAT PRACTITIONER AT THE AARK CLINIC SHOULD I SEE?
A twice yearly check-up with an Osteopath helps to prevent/alleviate the symptoms of growing pains, especially if the child is active. Children partaking in sports/physical activities are more prone to injury and require the correct amount of stretching and treatment to maintain optimum biomechanics.
