TENNIS ELBOW / GOLFERS ELBOW

Tennis Elbow and Golfers Elbow are two conditions affecting the elbow. Tennis Elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis) affects the outside of the elbow where the wrist tendons attach to the bone. Any abrupt over stretching of the tendon may result in damage and subsequent inflammation. Tennis elbow can also be caused by any repetitive motion of the elbow, arm or wrist. The area becomes very tender over the bone and the patient may find it difficult lifting objects with that hand. Although named Tennis Elbow, we mostly see both Tennis Elbow and Golfers Elbow in tradesmen, manual workers, desk workers etc. Common symptoms are pain and tenderness over the elbow, an ache over the forearm muscles and sometimes pins/needles into the wrist and hand.

Golfers Elbow (Medial Epicondylitis) symptoms are very similar, only it affects the inside part of the elbow bone.
