Want Iconic Hair? Try Elasticizer originally developed for Audrey Hepburn…

Why use Elasticizer???

If your hair is in poor condition and needs some extra help, then Philip Kingsley’s Elasticizer may be the product for you. If your hair is coloured, processed, snapping or splitting then it may be that hero product your hair needs. Sometimes, you can get used to the way your hair feels and actually forget what Strong, Healthy, Shiny hair used to feel like. Maybe it’s dry and course after years of processsing or maybe you have been ill and medication has changed the quality of your hair.

Elasticizer was originally created by Philip Kingsley specifically for Audrey Hepburn, who wanted a super-moisturising treatment that would repair her hair and keep it in great condition throughout the frequent colouring and styling done to her hair on movie sets. This is a pre-shampoo intensive moisturizing treatment that delivers elasticity, bounce and shine to hair. It also provides UV protection even after washing, helping prolong the life of colour treated hair. You can see visible results from one application that improves with continued use. It is a Fragrance free treatment.

Elasticizer can become part of your routine to continuously improve or maintain the quality and behaviour of your hair. Extremely broken, damaged hair – whether the result of chemical over processing, physical trauma or poor health, will also improve with concentrated use of Elasticizer. More frequent use of this intensive treatment formula will restore suppleness, elasticity, shine and bounce. You can leave it on overnight for that real intensive treatment. Either sleep in a shower cap or place a towel over your pillow. This is great if your hair is completely frazzled.

Elasticizer now comes in Original or Extreme… Which one should I use????

Original Elasticizer is for anyone, but the Extreme formulation, is targeted at a very specific hair type:extremely dry, porous and very thirsty! This product is ideal for hair that is exceptionally processed and damaged as it will provide instant replenishment, hydration and nourishment. It is also good for Course Afro-Caribbean hair. If your hair is bleached all over and is in poor condition, you may like the Extreme formulation. But…

Please Note…
Do NOT use Elasticizer or Elasticizer Extreme for THREE days before and THREE days after chemical processing.

My personal experience & review….

As an image conscious person, my hair is extremely important to me. I have to say, that at the moment, my hair is in great condition. But I have to be honest, it is very short and I have it cut every three to four weeks. I do colour my hair very regularly and use straighteners but thanks to a healthy diet, great shampoo and conditioner ( Read my blog on the Liz Earle Shampoo & Conditioner) and the regular trips to the hair dressers, I never find my hair in poor condition these days.

Roll back the years….And it was a very different story!

Naturally, my hair is dark brown, and at the moment, I have it dyed a lovely dark bitter chocolate colour which looks healthy and shiny. But some years ago, I was constantly changing my hair colour, trying to find what was right for me. Unfortunately, back then, Liz Earle had not released her Shampoo & Conditioner so I was using a variety of Brands. All good quality, but none of which I fell in love with.

In a moment of madness and experimentation, I was persuaded to have my hair dyed Bleached Platinum Blonde!!! It did look nice but was extremely hard to maintain and too far away from my natural colour to be in good condition. It took several bleaches and toners to get it the right colour, but my hair was like straw. It was falling out, felt dry, porous, and was in the worst condition ever. I really regretted having it done. I enjoyed the colour for a few weeks but the condition of my hair bothered me so I had it re-dyed brunette. I was then recommended Elasticizer (They didn’t do the Extreme then). I ordered it straight away and by the time it arrived, it had already been more than three days after colouring. I lapped it on, covering small sections of my hair and left it on overnight. I washed it out in the morning and was amazed and how much better my hair felt. I did it again the next night, and then for the next few days just did a 30 minute treatment each day. My hair really responded. Eventually I was just using it once a week until my hair was looking great.

Like I say, now, I don’t need it at all, but back then, it really did help save my hair!!

If your hair is in poor condition, I would definitely recommend trying this product. Also, if your hair is long, it is a great product to add into your routine as it will help keep those ends healthy. You may only need to use it once a week or month. Apply to damp hair in sections. A  fabulous recovery treatment for hair in a terrible condition or a staple treatment to boost the condition of your hair, keeping it healthy and manageable.
